[Aquamacs-devel] Aquamacs 2.1rc: LaTeX problems

Hi,

Urged on by David's email last night I've gone back to the Emacs 23
version of Aquamacs as opposed to the Emacs 24 version I have been
using. I've discovered some problems having to do with LaTeX. (I'm
happy to report that spell seems to work fine now, at least via
flyspell-mode. It's a little sluggish, but usable.)

I have a number of LaTeX documents which are meant to be compiled with
XeLaTeX. In fact, these files contain a local variable block such as

% Local Variables:
% mode: LaTeX
% TeX-command-default: "XeLaTeX"
% coding: utf-8
% End:

Well, Aquamacs does not seem to recognise the existence of the XeLaTeX
command. Even C-cC-c xelatex is not recogniseed. (Needless to say,
if I launch Terminal.app I can compile the documents using XeLaTeX
from the command line.) Perhaps I need to add something to
TeX-command-alist?

A second observation: I just installed the pretest vesion of TeXLive
2010 and changed the TeX distribution in the System Preferences to
reflect this change. Yet Aquamacs still insists on compiling using
TeXLive 2009. Doesn't Aquamacs pick up the distribution from the
system preferences?

Cheers,
	José
