No, the master branch is the 2.x branch. It is based on emacs23.
Aquamacs24 is occasionally updated from the master branch and from emacs24, which is the current Gnu Emacs development trunk (master).

This is the "classic" branch now that 2.0 has been released; I commit bug fixes here that I consider important and safe.

Yes. New things in Aquamacs end up in master first.
