[Aquamacs-devel] font & input bug with Japanese

Emacs does not currently see style traits such as "sans" or "serif" from the NS fonts.
Emacs also isn't told more than "bold" and "medium" about the fonts, as far as I can see.

What Emacs does care about is to ensure that the chosen font can cover as many characters as possible within the given script (e.g., "han").  This is the case for the chosen font, as is for Osaka (95% coverage).  One way around this would be to construct a fontset that specifies the exact fonts to be used for which range of symbols.   Emacs cannot otherwise choose a "good" font for common "han" characters, and a backup for the remaining ones.

This and the above text render fine in a font when I select "Osaka" manually.  Is that a workable solution?
