It's a known problem.
William Henney (cc'ed) was working on this in early July - it wasn't
quite ready for inclusion at the time. Will, any news?

The original extension was poorly done. I have changed this and I
believe that was one of the tiny changes done for release 1.8c or so.
If you're not on 1.8c, you should have success with an upgrade.
